With deep experience in nonprofit leadership and marcom activities, I held a six year stay at Microsoft promoting philanthropic programs to employees and externally in the following ways:
Audience: Primarily employees
The company sees Responsible AI (RAI) as within everyone's purview. I partnered with program managers to convey messaging about RAI training and resources for employees.
Audience: Global, awareness of deepfakes and how to identify during election season
AI has been used to create false and misleading information regarding candidates and their campaigns during election seasons around the globe. I worked with the program team to bring awareness on how to spot deepfakes prior to elections in various parts of the world.
Audience: Employees for volunteer recruitment
Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) is a Microsoft Philanthropies program that builds sustainable computer science programs in high schools. During my time at Microsoft, I provided marketing support for TEALS through owned & operated channels.
Audience: Employees
I produced marketing and communications plans along with an asset library that included templates and guidance for employees. My efforts were focused on: disaster response, annual employee giving campaign, 5K, Hack for Good, April Volunteer Month, Microsoft Mentors, Giving Tree, Earth Day, World Refugee Day, Giving Tuesday, Hour of Code and Give Fest (nonprofit volunteering fair). I supported special COVID-19 global giving events and Puget Sound laptop donation program.
While employed at Wireless Advocates, I hired and managed a team of web designers, communications specialists, marketers and graphic designers to produce collateral for wireless kiosks in Costco stores and military exchange locations.
While working at Washington Society of CPAs for seven years, I developed and managed member communications which included programming sites in ColdFusion to work within an ASP.Net framework. This improved member experience through customized web and email interfaces.
I had two different LLCs during this timeframe: Winkle Webbings and Flying Ears Graphics. I worked primarily with small business owners and nonprofits to create custom web management systems in PHP/MySQL and designed visual representation of company brands.
